About the Central College of Homeopathy
We offer a unique modern-day approach to becoming a complementary health practitioner.
The Central College of Homeopathy has been created by Gordon Sambidge who has founded and previously run two highly successful complementary health colleges, graduating over a thousand practitioners.
From a lifetime of experience he now wants to take homeopathic education and health coaching in a new and modern direction – online, self-directed learning under the guidance of the highest quality teachers the UK has to offer.
All our teachers have between 20 to 35 years of experience working in the field of natural health. Their passion and enthusiasm for their subjects makes the course dynamic, comprehensive and inspirational.
The course is designed as an online training allowing students to study within their own time frame from home. As one of our students you can enrol and start the course when you wish during the year. From that point on you will progress through the course by watching the video lectures in sequence and completing the course work attached to the lectures.
The ethos of the college is to provide a transformative and deep experiential understanding of homeopathy, nutrition, herbal medicine and life/health coaching.
The college offers the opportunity for its students to study to a professional standard. On completion of the course the practitioner can then choose to start their own practice and be registered with an accredited professional registering body.
Our students can also simply work their way through the highly enjoyable video lectures for their own pleasure to further and deepen their knowledge and understanding of health.

I have been in Practice for 36 years now (I know… I started as a child).
I was an Acupuncturist first and I felt that were some holes in my ability to treat people. I discovered it was hard to treat acute illness and almost impossible to treat children with anything more that massage on the points.
I started to study at the College of Homeopathy in 1982 and very quickly I fell under its spell. I loved the remedy pictures, the detective work, the breadth, and scope of the therapy and since then it has been the mainstay of my practice.
The clinic is very busy. I see about 60 patients a week. Patients come to see me for a huge variety of complaints and I love it that my patients come from all racial backgrounds and cultures, also that they are of every age and gender.
If I had to say what my special interests are I would have to pick 3 areas, Skin disease, Endocrine disorders and Developmental issues in children.
I started teaching around 20 years ago. I now lecture all over the place, at many colleges and at post graduate groups all over the country and in fact all over the world.
I love teaching. I like to think I make it look effortless but in fact I take it very seriously and spend a long time preparing every lecture so that it is very clear and well structured.
Over the years I have seen many of the students that I have helped to teach running very busy practices themselves which is hugely gratifying.
In around 1999 I started a Skin Care business with my friend and colleague Jonathan Stallick, called Barefoot Botanicals. It came out of a need to find products that worked for our patients with Eczema.
I have recently started another company called ‘ Skingenius” which is making acne products for teenage skin conditions.

I was born in St John’s Wood in London and have worked there as a homeopath in the same location for thirty two years.
I began my studies with a degree in Botany at London University. After university I travelled across Asia, visiting many countries including India and Thailand, before landing in Australia. During my three year stay in Australia I became fascinated with Naturopathy and Nutrition. On my return to London I started a course in Herbal Medicine and in 1985 this led to me to my true vocation – Homeopathy. I studied at the College of Homeopathy and In 1988 I qualified as a homeopath and started my practice in St John’s Wood as well as at home in north London. I was also asked to teach at the College of Practical Homeopathy, both in London and Birmingham, which is where my love of teaching homeopathy began.
In 1998 I co-founded the Centre for Homeopathic Education (CHE) and was Principal and Course Director for fifteen years. During this time I established and managed the BSc (Hons) degree in Homeopathy validated by Middlesex University. CHE became the largest homeopathic college in the UK and well over 1000 students graduated to become homeopaths. We had a part-time course, full time course and myself and an American colleague opened a branch of the college in New York, travelling monthly to teach there. As Principal of CHE I gained huge experience of education in homeopathy and complementary medicine, while still maintaining a busy practice and also expanding my own knowledge of homeopathy, nutrition, counselling and health management.
Lecturing in homeopathy has taken me to various different countries over the years including America, Australia, Iceland and Hungary. I have also lectured at many UK homeopathic colleges, conferences and seminars.
In 2018 I co-founded the College of Integrated Nutrition and Homeopathy which was very successful and produced some excellent practitioners of homeopathy and nutritional therapy. This new Central College of Homeopathy is a culmination of all my work in health education to date, that combines a complete training in homeopathy, nutrition, mind/body detox and Innate wellbeing.

I have been a homeopath now for thirty years. I discovered homeopathy whilst living in Australia in my twenties and after experiencing its incredible healing power, very quickly began to study at the Sydney College of Homeopathic Medicine as I wanted to help others benefit from it too. For me it was a perfect integration of my former degree study in Psychology and my fascination with the concepts of health and well-being as it gave me the means to treat the whole person, honouring the interconnection between the mind, body and soul. The way that the medicines are made from plants, animals and minerals also really appealed to me. As a qualified teacher, another gift homeopathy has given me is to be able to integrate my teaching work with children by helping them with their emotional and behavioural problems which so often hinder learning and enjoyment of school.
In 1998, back in England with Gordon, I helped to set up the Centre for Homeopathic Education which went on to provide a BSc Hons degree in Homeopathy. My role there was primarily in Student Support and Pastoral Care, although I also taught on the Practitioner Development module of the degree as well as supervising our students, enabling them to become confident and successful homeopaths which gave me great satisfaction.
In 2018 I helped to found the College of Integrated Nutrition and Homeopathy and became its Administrator for the first two years. During this time, the pandemic hit, and the course had to switch to being delivered online. So it is with great excitement that I am working on this new and unique course that the Central College of Homeopathy is offering. I look forward to supporting many more students on their journey through learning the healing arts.
Flavia Porto
After 20 years in international business and marketing which involved travelling all over the world, I moved from Brazil via. Spain to London to pursue my dreams in natural medicine. I am fascinated by the body’s ability to heal when it is provided with nature’s medicine in the form of food, herbs and homeopathy. As well as being the College administrator and clinic co-ordinator which are fun, challenging and rewarding, I am a qualified nutritional therapist and homeopath. Did I say ‘I love studying?’. Every day there is something new to learn and I never miss that opportunity. I am also fully qualified in reiki and Bach flower remedies as I just can’t help myself.
I absolutely love what I do and honour the opportunity to empower and educate patients/clients. It is so rewarding to be a witness of their healing journey and see people achieve health and stand in their own power.
I have a practice in London and I run workshops in homeopathy, nutrition and and reiki.
I love studying, it is just in my ‘veins’ and enjoy seeing students at the College feel the same energy. I also love cooking vegan, walking and sitting down with a good ‘cuppa tea’ as they say in England. And I have to add that I adore animals.
